Resolution Review 2018

Last year I publicly shared the below resolutions. Here is how I got on!

1) Personal – Do something I enjoy every day. Life is short so enjoy it.

I think I managed this. In 2018 I started to watch more of the TV shows I enjoy watching by downloading episodes to my devices and watxhing on my commute. I read a lot of non fiction books about fishing and survival etc. travelled a fair amount and spent a lot of time with both my fiancee and family.

My work life balanced improved as I learnt the valuable lessons in k owomg when to let go and delegating when possible.

2) For others – I want to speak out when I believe others are bullying or just being out of order. Mainly on social media where I see bullying almost everyday in some form or another.

I managed to get an employee who I believed to be a racist to leave his position and protect my workforce from his stupid comments. Online I have gradually been removing people from my accounts that are repeatedly posting right wing posts as I dont wish to read them and anytime I though someone was overstepping the line I put my 2 pence in. Often this resulted in rediculous arguements but sometimes stupids needs to be argued with reason.

3) Environmental – I want to pick up at least 1 bag of rubbish everytime I go sea fishing and put it in a bin as well as dramtically improve on my own waste habits.

I have failed at this. I have been picking up rubbish each day before going into the buildimg at work and I have been picking up large items of rubbish when fishing. But due to my selfishness and always wanting to fosh till the last spare second I haven’t dedicsted the time to collecting rubbish. Due to practising catch and release foshing 90% of the time I also rarely carry bags.
